The best way to build wealth is consistency. Consistency over 5, 10, or 20 years is key to building and maintaining wealth and success. However, the key to your first step to wealth is intensity. Just do something! If you need inspiration, visit the Businesses I Love page for about 300 service-based business ideas to get you started.
Most successful entrepreneurs didn’t go on Shark Tank or have some revolutionary idea that got them on the map. Many didn’t even set out to be an entrepreneur. They just had an idea, went out and did something, and made sales. People who want to be entrepreneurs think they need to be special and have something different.
You don’t have to be special or different. You just have to be good at what you do. The competition is weak. People don’t know how to stay consistent or be found online. It could take you less than an hour to set up a Google My Business, website, and have an online presence. If you don’t want to do that work and you want better results, you can go to Sparrow Websites with our discount and get all of the work done for you, ready to collect leads, and go out and sell some jobs.
Make $1,000
Nick’s challenge is this: put the phone away, get out of the house and make a thousand dollars. Skip the logo and the t-shirts and look in your garage at what you could use to make money. Stop viewing it as a whole big deal, and narrow it down to finding something to do and just starting. If you make a decision to START, you WILL make money.
When you go out and make a thousand dollars, Nick wants a report back. Go to the Sweaty Startup Reddit and make a post called “The quest for a thousand bucks”. Check in a week after you start and update with your progress. Remember, keep it simple and keep it cheap. You don’t need to buy a bunch of equipment or bring on a partner. Just yourself. go out, do research, and find the best ways you think you could make money. One easy way is finding anything that’s dirty and clean it: gutters, decks, power washing, anything.
Humble Beginnings
Nick started his business by trying to rent out his apartment. He couldn’t find anyone to rent it, but someone asked him to store their stuff at his place over the summer. He realized he could make some money by doing that. Fast-forward five years and Storage Squad is in 5 states, doing 2 million in sales, and have a large business.
We look forward to hearing from all of you about your journey to your first thousand dollars. Keep us updated on Reddit, comment on Youtube, or shoot Nick an email.
